How ChatGPT 4 is Better Than ChatGPT 3?

How ChatGPT 4 is Better Than ChatGPT 3?

OpenAI’s ChatGPT 4 uses deep learning algorithms to recognize and generate human-like text using an advanced language model. It advances on the triumphs of its earlier versions, GPT-1, GPT-2, and GPT-3, and offers several new features and capabilities that segregate it from earlier versions of the model.

With news surrounding the release of GPT-4 gaining steam, we thought it’d be nice to compare the upcoming language model with the current one. So here are some of the key features and capabilities of ChatGPT 4:

Improved Natural Language Processing (NLP): It will use more advanced NLP techniques than previous versions of the model, allowing it to understand the nuances of human language better and generate more accurate and natural-sounding text.

Multilingual Capabilities: The advanced version will also process and generate text in multiple languages, making it a versatile tool for natural language processing and machine translation.

Enhanced Contextual Awareness: It will better understand the context and generate more relevant text to a given topic or conversation. This allows it to generate more accurate responses to prompts and produce more coherent and meaningful text.

Expanded Memory: The artificial intelligence platform is anticipated to have a larger memory capacity than previous versions of the model, allowing it to better retain and recall information over time. This makes it more effective for tasks that require long-term memory, such as language translation or content generation.

Improved Robustness: It will be better equipped to handle noisy or incomplete data, making it more resilient and accurate in real-world applications.

Compared to earlier versions of the model, ChatGPT 4 offers several key improvements in terms of its capabilities and performance. For example, its multilingual capabilities and enhanced contextual awareness make it a more versatile and effective tool for natural language processing. At the same time, its expanded memory and improved robustness make it more reliable in real-world applications.

Rumors and Predictions

While the internet is abuzz with different rumors and predictions, Andreas Braun, Microsoft Germany’s CTO, pointed out at a recent event that the next version promises a significant improvement over ChatGPT with its multimodal models capable of responding to user queries through music, video, and images. This feature alone sets GPT-4 apart, as ChatGPT can only respond through text.

With its faster and more human-like responses, GPT-4 is expected to turn the tide of intelligent systems and applications. Apparently, OpenAI is developing a mobile app boasting GPT-4’s capabilities. As excitement builds for its release, many are speculating on this new technology’s potential applications and benefits.

Other reports indicate that GPT-4 is set to boast an impressive one trillion parameters, a significant increase that could enhance ChatGPT’s ability to provide more accurate responses faster.

However, the heightened parameter count may also drive up the costs of running GPT-4, which could pose a challenge for OpenAI. Alongside these upgrades, GPT-4 is also anticipated to improve its capacity to replicate human behavior and speech patterns when responding to user prompts.

With better optimization, GPT-4 could exceed the performance of older GPT versions in identifying human intentions despite errors. OpenAI’s continued dedication to refining algorithms like RLHF also means that GPT-4 could benefit from the superior implementation of supervised fine-tuning.

GPT-4 is Finally Out and About

OpenAI has finally introduced its most advanced system – GPT-4. Let’s see to what extent the rumors and predictions were true.

OpenAI believes GPT-4 may be better equipped to reduce the likelihood of producing toxic or biased content. It may help minimize the spread of misinformation since it has leveraged human feedback to fine-tune AI models.

The API for GPT-4 is also available so that developers can build applications and services. Google, Duolingo, Stripe, and Khan Academy are among the handful of companies that have already integrated the API for GPT-4.

How Does GPT-4 Differ from GPT-3?

ChatGPT currently uses GPT-3.5, which will be updated to GPT-4.1. GPT stands for Generative Pre-Trained Transformer, an artificial neural network program that can mimic human writing. The new language model developed by OpenAI generates text in a similar manner to a human’s speech.

Also, the wider scope of general knowledge and enhanced problem-solving abilities of GPT-4 enable it to solve challenging problems with greater precision.

OpenAI claims that this next-generation language model goes beyond its predecessor in three key areas:

The OpenAI company claims GPT-4 is better at creating and collaborating with users on creative projects than GPT-3. It can generate, iterate, and edit with users when it comes to creative and technical writing tasks, ranging from composing songs to writing screenplays and learning users’ writing styles.

Creativity

This also depends on the longer context. Users can now input up to 25,000 words of text into GPT-4. GPT-4 can even respond to a text on a web page if you send it a link. According to OpenAI, this can assist in creating long-form content and ‘extended conversations.’

Longer Context

Visual Input

Even images can be received by GPT-4 for interaction. On the GPT-4 website, a chatbot is shown an image of some baking ingredients and asked how they can be used. It is unclear if the video can also be used in this manner.

The GPT-4 is also said to be significantly safer than the previous technology. As a result of OpenAI’s own internal testing, the AI was reported to produce 40% more factual responses and 82% fewer requests for disallowed content. OpenAI has achieved these strides based on early feedback from “over 50 experts on AI safety and security.”

On top of it, GPT-4 outshines its previous version in its advanced reasoning capabilities. Check this out:

The latest version also surpasses ChatGPT by scoring high approximate percentiles among test-takers.

Limitations Still Exist

The new language model of GPT-4 has some limitations and new capabilities, according to OpenAI. As with previous models of GPT, OpenAI says the latest model still suffers from social biases and hallucinations. OpenAI says there are still issues with its algorithm, but these are all being addressed.

Optimized Infrastructure

The training of GPT-4 took place on the AI supercomputers of Microsoft Azure. Thanks to Azure’s infrastructure optimized for AI, OpenAI is able to make GPT-4 available to users across the globe.

Can You Use GPT-4 in Bing Chat?

In the beginning, Microsoft claimed that Bing Chat would be more potent than ChatGPT. However, as OpenAI’s chat uses GPT-3.5, it was conceivable that Bing Chat would use GPT-4. Interestingly, Microsoft has now affirmed that Bing Chat is actually built on GPT-4.

However, visual input wasn’t available on Bing Chat, so it’s unclear which features have been incorporated.

Though Bing Chat is a much-improved version of ChatGPT than its current version, it is limited to the training it received until 2021, which is clearly a huge improvement.

Aside from internet access, the AI model used for Bing Chat is much faster. Search engines require this if they are to be taken out of the lab and used as part of their search results.

Revolution or Evolution?

Having built on the success of ChatGPT, GPT-4 will be even more impressive in ChatGPT Plus. You’ve probably already experienced it if you’ve tried out Bing Chat. It won’t be anything revolutionary.

Before the launch of GPT-4, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman commented in a StrictlyVC interview on YouTube with Connie Loizos that people were expecting to be disappointed with GPT-4. However, Altman also expressed concern about the potential for AGI to disrupt global economies and suggested that gradual and well-planned changes would be more favorable than sudden advancements.

According to Altman, GPT-4 will represent an evolutionary step rather than a revolutionary one, and ChatGPT’s next version will not be an AGI. Moreover, contrary to certain rumors, it will not have 100 trillion parameters.
