The UK time is pleased to announce that Mars Wrigley UK has now formally declared that the mars chocolate bar sold in Ireland and the UK will be carbon neutral certified by January 2023.

This initiative will make mars chocolate bar, which has yearly sales of over 200 million bars in the UK only, the first carbon-neutral chocolate bar to appear on the Irish and British shelve aisles produced by a top 5 confectionery companies in the world.

The new initiative involving a new Mars bar sold in Canada represents the tangible climate action less than a month after Mars merged with Mars Wrigley’s parent company and declared its pledge to achieve net-zero greenhouse emissions across its full-fledged value chain by 2050.

Mars Chocolate Bar and the impact of greenhouse reductions – the greenhouse gas cutbacks and high-quality offsets used for the Mars bars to go carbon neutral in 2023 are anticipated to be approximately to be comparable of charging more than 13 billion mobile phones, or the same amount of carbon isolated by around 135,000 acres of forest in a year.

Mars bars and its parent company has been driving the climate action for about or slightly more than a decade now. The new mars bar, which has been manufacturing the chocolate in Slough for over 90 years, is already a production factory that sources 100% sustainable and renewable electricity. Persistent climate initiatives and interventions such as mentioned above have led Mars in the UK to reduce its entire greenhouse emissions from direct operations by 67% ever since 2015.

What about the delicious taste of iconic Mars bars?

Milky Way

The Milky Way is right up in the records, one of the earliest bars Mars ever developed in 1923. This is a bar that everyone should love; afterall, it is actually a malted milkshake in a bar. There are several more versions of this bar, both locally and abroad. The nougat in this bar is the highpoint, a medium color of frothy, a bit grainy nougat covered with a streak of caramel and covered in milk chocolate.

The zests in Mars bars go hand in hand with an ultimate fusion with the caramel that has a slightly salty taste – balancing out the otherwise smooth chocolate. The malt, in addition, is earthy and adds flavor to the bar.

Milky Way Midnight

Milky way Midnight is a beautiful dark bar with little folds of chocolate on the top of the bars. Mars bar ingredients for Milky Way midnight bars have a bit of reddish tone to it. Inside is a creamy white with a yellowish tone nougat and a stripe of caramel – aren’t mars bar ingredients amazing? These bars smell a bit smoky and are quite sweet.

As far as the mars bar ingredients are concerned, for Milky Way Midnight, the caramel dominates the bar along with its sugary stickiness – it is not fully offset by the smooth texture but otherwise tasteless dark chocolate.

Mars Dark

The new Mars bar selection presents a stunning dark mars bar with silky dark brown chocolate. Inside the new mars bar is a fluffy white nougat with a bit of a yellow tone and a stripe of caramel. The nougat inside the mars bar is a bit grainier but sweet and only slightly less dazed by the flavor of caramel. However, the chocolate, while still being pretty, does not add much taste counterbalance for the entire mars bar weight – albeit only a smooth texture.

The packaging of the Mars dark bar is a bit of a bungle, as it looks to indicate milk chocolate through its lighter, creamy color over the black color packaging of the bar.

Mars Bar Calories UK

When we talk about the calorie-dense treat, the Mars bar calories UK is nearly 60% sugar and the European Union does not consider it a chocolate bar. There is 228 KCAL in every mars bar.

Mars Chocolate Bars and the Cultural Impact

Unless you are an astronomer or Elon Musk himself, if you hear Mars, you probably think of the gooey-chocolaty treat with caramel and nougat. The Mars bars have been around for so long – they now seem a part of the Irish culture for so long.

Mars Bar Ingredients

Carefully read the ingredients, and you shall see that the first listed item in the mars bar calorie UK chart is sugar. As sugar is more in these bars compared to any other ingredients. While reading, you will find further sweetness added in the form of glucose syrup, barley malt extract, and lactose milk sugar. Cross-check that with the nutrition information panel, and you shall see there is close to 59.9g of sugar in every 100g of mars bar weight. So, it won’t be wrong to say that a mars bar is almost 60% sugar. Interestingly, that is not an awful lot more than what could be found in a dairy milk bar, which is 60% sugar.

FAQs

Who makes mars bars?

Mars bars were manufactured in the USA, where Mars Inc is now one of the biggest privately owned/held companies. The Mars bars family business sells everything from the Dolmio sauces to pet/dog food. On the other side of the Atlantic, Mars bars have been produced in Slough, England, since 1932. A small stamp and a Union flag indicate that on the packet.

But is a Mars bar chocolate?

Technically we don’t think so, neither does the European Union. To be recognized as chocolate in the EU s bar must have at least 30% cocoa. Ireland and UK have lowered that percentage down to just 20% cocoa. Mars bars are calorie-dense with almost 60% sugar, and there are 228kcal in every mars bar.
