Productivity is the power of producing goods and services, more so if they are of good quality. The definition will change depending on which industry or business you are in. Productivity may entail having few errors to some companies, while it involves timely delivery to the client for other companies. But the bottom line is that without maximizing Productivity, you can not expect your business to grow far more than just break even.

With this in mind, we have put together some essential points that all business people looking for ways to improve their overall Productivity should consider when buying top laptops for business use. They include:

1) Battery life – This is very subjective since it depends on what you do with your laptop daily. Still, most reviews state that if you opt for a laptop with a battery life of fewer than 5 hours, you may as well forget about optimizing your Productivity. In addition to this is the speed at which your laptop charges from 0% to 100%. Some laptops take too long to charge or do not even reach 100% within 3 hours, and that’s a turn-off for many business people who need their devices back in no time.

2) Refresh Rate – This refers to how often your computer can refresh all open windows visible on your screen before they start refreshing themselves. The standard rate is supposed to be 60 times per second, but some systems are faster. So you should consider looking at speeds higher than 60 Hz if possible.

3) Memory – A laptop should have at least 8GB of memory or more if possible. Some laptops come with 16 GB and even 32 GB ram installed. However, it all depends on what your computer will be used for; you may need such large amounts of Ram for the design and development of computer games that involve a lot of programs running simultaneously. For most other businesses, though, investing in 16GB DDR3 RAM should suffice.

4) Graphics Card – This refers to how well your laptop can handle things like 3-D modeling and rendering software.

5) Processor – The processor is the brains of your laptop, and it comes in two main types, which are Intel Core i3, core i5, core i7, core m processors, and AMD A4, A6 E1-2100 APUs. Though they come at different speeds, an essential thing in considering one over another is what you will use your laptop for. If it’s just to browse social media sites, then an Intel Celeron with 2 GHz processing speed would do just fine, but if you want to play games or work on graphics, you should consider a laptop with Intel Core i5 or AMD A10 2GHz+ processing speed.

6) RAM – The right amount of ram for your business is 8GB DDR4. Anything less means that your laptop will be slow, and anything more means that it’s just a waste of resources on your side.

7) Ports – Modern laptops have only USB type C ports but since some devices still require standard USB ports, go for laptops with at least 1-2 USB 3.0 ports installed. Also, make sure they have an HDMI port to connect to projectors and big screens by cable rather than using wireless technologies where possible, which tend to be unreliable at times.

8) Screen size – This is subjective, but the general rule is that the more significant your screen size, the better. However, you should consider how portable your laptop can be before settling for one with a large screen.

9) Screen Resolution – The top laptops in 2018 all come with 1920 x 1080 px resolutions or higher if possible to give you crisp, clear images when working on your system.

10) Weight – Since most business people often travel, look for lightweight laptops under 5 lbs. Anything much above that will be cumbersome and may end up sitting in your office room most of the time rather than accompanying you on business trips.
