PCB has announced the 15 member team for the T20 World Cup 2021 that is going to start on the 17th of October. With these 15 members, they also announced 3 standby players who will travel along with the team.

Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim announced this team on the 6th of September and right after that he had to face big criticism from ex-cricketers and from the cricket fans as well. Some senior players failed to get into the World Cup team while new players with no performance are selected.

Cricket fans and ex-cricketers including Rashid Latif, Shoaib Akhtar, and Wasim Akhtar demand to have another look at the team selection. Even the Prime Minister of Pakistan, who is also an ex-cricketer and captain of the team who won the only ODI World Cup for Pakistan in 1992, Mr. Imran Khan also asked the PCB chairman to have a second look at the team selection.

Criticism on Azam Khan

On social media, cricket fans and lovers also criticized the team selection. Many cricketers and cricket fans criticized the selection of Azam Khan as a wicketkeeper-batsman. According to the critics, he has nothing on his credit to get selected. The only reason for his selection is that he is the son of former Pakistan’s captain and wicketkeeper Moin Khan.

Azam Khan couldn’t perform in the last series against England and in the ongoing national T20 cup he has just an average performance. Moreover, there are a lot of questions about his fitness as well.

Views about Fakhar Zaman

If we talk about Pakistan vs India live match streaming in the World Cup, then Fakhar Zaman is not there in the 15 members. He played a match-winning innings against India in the Champion’s trophy final match in 2017.

Fakhar Zaman is also the top scorer in the ongoing National T20 cup. He made 420 runs in 12 matches with the highest inning of 68 runs. With that, he scored 5 fifties which is higher than any other batsman in the tournament.

Views About Imam Ul Haq

Imam ul Haq is another great batsman of Pakistan who has a good average in ODI cricket. He didn’t play many international T20 matches but in his domestic T20 career, he has a great record. In the National T20 cup, Imam ul Haq is among the top five batsmen and his highest score in the cup is 94.

He has the highest average score of 53+ and he made 3 fifties as well. So, he should be included in the Pakistan team for T20 World Cup 2021. You can watch live streaming T20 World Cup all over the world on different TV channels, mobile apps, and YouTube channels as well.

Muhammad Amir’s Selection

Some people also say that Muhammad Amir should also be included in the Pakistan team. But according to Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim, Muhammad Amir is not available. Amir himself said that he is not available for the team right now.

When Wasim was asked for the possible changes, he said that at the moment he is not planning to make any changes. But he added that if we feel that there should be some changes, then we will think about it.

Remember that, 16th October is the last date announced by the ICC to change the team members for the teams.

Asif Ali’s Performance

Asif Ali who is among the 15 members performed very poorly in the national T20 cup. He is at number 20 on the highest scores in the tournament. Asif Ali made only 240 runs in 11 matches with an average of 30. Remember that he remains not out in 3 innings as well.

Whereas in the entire tournament, Asif Ali has scored only 1 fifty so far.

What Next?

Till now the chief selector Mohammad Wasim has not shown any interest in making any changes in the team selection of Pakistan for the T20 World Cup 2021. But it is expected that pressure will build up on him and eventually he has to make a few changes.

A few ex-cricketers and cricket fans in Pakistan are also in favor of selecting Shoaib Malik who is the most senior batsman. His performance against India is also good and he can play responsibly in T20 cricket. In T20 cricket, his stats are impressive, but his performance in the National T20 Cup is not good.

Even then many cricket experts like Mike Haysman are in favor of including Shoaib Malik in the national team. We have to wait and watch for the final of the National T20 cup. After that, it is expected that a few changes will be made to improve the team selection.
