The next London Fashion Week will be from February 17th to February 21st, 2023.
As the pandemic changed how shows are exhibited, this will be another hybrid digital and physical exhibition featuring menswear, womenswear, and gender-neutral autumn winter 2023 ready-to-wear collections.
Men’s and women’s clothing will show at the events that make up London Fashion Week 2023, including digital and physical activities.
Regarding London Fashion Week in 2023:
The schedule for London Fashion Week February 2023 has been released, including a brand-new schedule of engaging activities.
Over 116 designers, including LFW favorites Molly Goddard, Richard Quinn, and Simone Rocha, will participate in the five-day event, including catwalk shows, presentations, appointments, and events.
In February and September, London hosts London Fashion Week twice a year. Along with the whole fashion week in
It is one of the “Big Four” fashion weeks, showcasing approximately 250 designers to a global audience of key journalists and shoppers.
The other well-known event attracts a large celebrity and contemporary-style figure crowd for several runway performances and presentations.
International fashion weeks are also organized in many additional cities, including
You’ll be paying attention to fall trends in the spring and spring trends in the fall, even though some designers don’t follow the conventional calendar dates when they reveal their collections. Some events start earlier than they are supposed to.
Top 5 Fall-Winter London Fashion Week 2023 shows:
In the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, the spring/summer 2023 season of London Fashion Week took place amidst widespread mourning.
Therefore, it was important to clarify how the event would proceed, especially in light of the famous designers’ withdrawals (Burberry and Raf Simons).
However, London’s up-and-coming designers, such as Molly Goddard, Edward Crutchley, stood to present their collections while also paying tribute to the Queen, who believed in encouraging innovation and design.
Even though fashion has relocated to Milan, the collections by
- Molly Goddard
- Erdem
- Edward Crutchley
- Rejina Pyo
- Bora Aksu
Lets have a have look about these fashion icons and their creativity in fashion 2023.
-
Molly Goddard
The inspiration for Molly Goddard’s SS23 collection came from red carpets from an era before the internet, when “clothing felt more created for the event and oneself.”
Goddard claimed that there was a period in which “posing” was less important, and people seemed to have more fun.
Charles James’ work, particularly how he used to shape and proportion, also impacted the designer.
As she mentioned in the show notes, Goddard was interested in “pushing materials to their extremities, exploiting the attributes of each fabric and allowing it to do the work.”
Goddard’s classic wedding finale, which featured a larger-than-life tulle gown fit for a contemporary bride, was set against the ideal Seymour Leisure Centre backdrop.
Erdem
Erdem spent time with restoration professionals at the British Museum, the Tate, the V&A, and the National Gallery as part of his spring/summer 2023 investigation into art restoration.
He observed the restoration of an embroidered silk 18th-century robe while conducting research.
London Fashion week 2023 is inspired a design that examines the boundary between preservation-related care and obsession.
The consequence was examining the undone and many stages of reconstruction, including
- Frayed hems
- Soft fabrics
- Patching together gowns
Even some looks were protected from the elements by tulle dust bags that resembled veils, according to Erdem. Erdem also featured a few sad, black-veil-covered designs in his 2023 collection regarding Her Majesty the Queen.
Edward Crutchley
Woolmark Prize laureate Edward Crutchley explored several clothing styles in his 2023 collection, including
- Opulent gowns
- Body-con dresses
- Crystal-adorned thongs
- Cupless bras
The Proteus of classical Greek mythology influenced him.
With a brand-new gorgeous cloqué jacquard, Crutchley—who collaborated with
- Kim Jones at Dior
- Louis Vuitton—exhibited his fabric selection and manipulation skill.
The fabric is a double fabric with a rich, Haute-chic jacquard appearance created exclusively for the collection and is an original take on cloqué.
Lurex provided an iridescent shine in some designs, while metal was braided to create a crinkle in others to imitate the strength of the sea.
A maxi-length mac, a little dress with ruffled sleeves, and a bomber jacket made of water-effect nylon with faceted thread to reflect light were among the other deep-sea blue outfits.
For the grand finale, Crutchley provided couture gowns with a color-changing lurex and silk structure that shone spectacularly even in the harsh lighting of a parking garage.
Rejina Pyo
One could live blissfully in this globe if one knows how to work and love, according to a saying by Tolstoy, which Rejina Pyo was inspired by because it didn’t apply to women if it had been published more than a century before. This proverb served as the inspiration for her novel 2023.
Considering this, Pyo presented a celebration of women and what it means to love and work, according to Freud, the two cornerstones of our humanity. The collection also included
- One-shoulder designs
- Recovering nylon swimwear with two halter straps
- Finishing each piece with a distinctive resin ring
- Button-up shirts
- Skirts
- Miniskirts
- Draped pants and dresses in the collection, which she could wear with or without slips. Her distinctive sculptural shapes were also included in the collection.
- Finishing each piece with a distinctive resin ring
- Other items were white and patchworked two-tone organic denim styles that were loose and finished with hand-frayed details.
- Handheld chain bag
- An updated Banana bag with new strap detailing
- A new knot bag family shown in the item box and cross-body bucket sizes were also included in 2023.
Bora Aksu:
Turkish fashion designer Bora Aksu, based in London, produced an “anachronistic dream state” for spring/summer 2023, focusing on the interaction between innocence and depravity.
Henry Darger‘s words and Marcel Dzama‘s watercolors inspired him. According to the show notes, the designer put womanliness at the center of the creative process, which was evident in “pieces that toe the line between the delicate and the resolute.”
Aksu continues to explore the themes of escapism and folklore tales introduced in previous seasons by contrasting military-inspired design elements like
- Medallions
- Sashes
- Tailoring with his customary layers of ruffles and tulle
- Painting patterns
- The pastel-hued color scheme

How did you get your start in LFW?
LFW is not open to the general public. To attend a show, you must normally be invited by the designer’s press team, though if you’re an industry leader, you can ask for a ticket yourself.
If you want to accomplish the latter, go to the London Fashion Week website, discover the contact information for the right designer’s press team, and email them personally, explaining why you should go.
Because the tickets are assigned early, it’s worth doing this months in advance.
